SAFARIS

Safaris in Africa are the most exciting holiday activities. For many who hear the word safari, it suddenly creates a scene where man and lions walk in total harmony in the wilderness. While this may not happen, lions are the pride of Africa. They can be found in virtually all game parks in Africa.

Kenya has been named among the top tourist destinations in Africa. The big five and sandy beaches will have you extend your stay here.

There are premier destinations in Kenya that you should not miss in your safari. The Maasai Mara is one of them. Located in the heart of Narok town, it has gained popularity for offering the best experience in the wild. The park has many animals, including the big five, and good resorts where you can be one with nature. Of course, it does not hurt to add that the Maasai, who are nomadic pastoralists, will slaughter you a goat. This goat will then be roasted on a bush fire and served hot with kachumbari (otherwise known as salsa). For the barbeque lovers, you will be in for a treat.  It is at the Mara where one can see one the nine wonders of the world; the great wildebeest migration.

There are many campsites and lodges in the Mara. These include Mara Nubian, the Porini Mara Camp, the Fairmont Mara Safari Camp, Mara Siria Camp and the Sarova Mara Game Camp to name but a few. The idea of camping under the stars is quite a reality in the National Reserve.  The big five and other animals can be seen when on game drives in the park.

In your safari, you might want to stop at the coast. The white sandy beaches are ideal for a relaxed day. Swimming with the dolphins and other water sports are fun activities that you should enjoy.
