He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Barrack Obama senior a Kenyan and Stanley Dunham from Hawaii on August 4th, 1961 and spent most of his early life in Indonesia with his mother and stepfather after his father returned to Kenya. Obama then came back to Honolulu in 1971 to live with his grandparents where he continued to attend school before later moving on to study Law at Harvard University.
